Our Home prides itself as being a part of the close-knit Community of Chipping Norton. We have close working relationships and partnerships with Businesses and Organisations within the Local Community surrounding our Home. At Beech Haven we are dedicated to building relationships from the first point of contact and this extends to our commitment to building relationships with Local Businesses and Organisations.
As part of our Outreach work and Community relationships we have Monthly Reading, Music and Buddy sessions with Pupils and their Teachers from the Local Primary School who visit our Residents. We also have Live Music provided by Chipping Norton Secondary School Pupils. Our Residents have enjoyed regular Trips to: Fairy Tale Farm, a whimsical Local Attraction and we have regular visits from Chipping Norton Museum with Costumes, Artefacts and Historical Talks provided for our Residents.
We have worked in Partnership for a number of years with the: ‘Take Part’ Department at Chipping Norton Theatre, who provide Themed Reminiscences and relaxed Theatre performances to our Residents. Our Residents particularly look forward to the Annual Christmas Pantomime which is always a hugely enjoyable Event.
“We have always received a wonderful response from Beech Haven Residents, as not only do we talk about times gone by and bring objects to stimulate discussion, we also have a lot of fun and laughs together too, encouraging conversations between the Residents socially – tapping in to their knowledge, experiences and memories. We are proud to be able to programme and deliver themed reminiscence sessions and our relaxed performances to visit The Theatre, providing a rewarding and enriching experience for all”

“I like sharing my books and talking with the Residents -they tell us they make their day! I made them cry but it was happy crying”
Pupil: St Mary’s Primary School, Chipping Norton
“The children at St Mary’s Primary School love coming to share books with the Residents. It is obvious to see the pleasure had by both parties and some lovely friendships have been formed. The children have grown in confidence and gained an understanding of a part of their community as well as bringing joy to the Residents. We also branch out and sing at Christmas and help with gardening in the summer!”

“We make the Residents happy and it makes me happy- I like entertaining old people and they tell us interesting things about their own School days too”

We have long standing relationships with each of the Local Churches in Chipping Norton and each denomination visit our Home each Month: Chipping Norton Methodist Church, Saint Mary’s Church of England and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Each Resident is free to follow the Faith of their choice.
Our pretty Garden is planted extensively using Shrubs, Plants and Flowers from Chipping Norton’s: Applegarth Nurseries and via Events and Raffles for our Residents and Staff we work with: Chipping Norton’s Cotswold Sweet Shoppe, Cotswold News, Hook Norton Brewery, Southcombe Garage and Burford’s Spice Lounge.
“Chipping Norton Museum show Residents Artefacts and Photographs, we enjoy interacting with the Residents who tell us their stories, especially the story by the Resident who was put into a Baby Gas Mask by her Mother during the War (like the one we took along on that occasion). We always look forward to future visits to Beech Haven”
